I have manually transcribed all my videos and coded them using MAXQDA, saving all updated versions. However, when I reopen the file, I receive the message "activate documents and codes to retrieve coded segments," but none of my transcripts or codes load. I've tried multiple times but haven't resolved the issue.
Here it seems that you only have closed the Document Browser window by accident. The window that you see on the right is the List of Retrieved Segments which is used for data retrieval. At the bottom of MAXQDA you should find a tab that reads "Document Browser" as in the screenshot below:
Just click on "Document Browser" to call it up again, so that you can continue working with your documents. If this does not work, you can also try to reset your user settings as follows:
- Click on the settings icon in the lower right corner of the MAXQDA interface - Navigate to "User interface" and choose "Reset interface settings" - MAXQDA will need to restart
