Issue with Code Assignments When Editing Japanese Transcripts in MAXQDA 24.6.0

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a critical issue with MAXQDA 24.6.0 and was wondering if anyone else has faced the same problem or found a workaround.

The issue occurs when editing Japanese transcripts that already have codes assigned.

Specifically:

  • If I edit even a single character in a sentence or section, all the codes linked to that part are completely removed.
  • This happens only with Japanese text. When I edit English transcripts, the codes remain intact as expected.

This makes it very difficult to work with Japanese-language data, as I need to manually reassign all the codes every time I make an edit.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a known solution or a way to prevent the codes from being removed?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
