After clicking on categorize paraphrases, I exported the file. But it never shows complete parent code. How can I get in one document- Color, Codes (with parent code), coded segment and paraphrases.

Dear Deepica,

To get a document that includes color, codes with their complete parent code, coded segments, and paraphrases together, you can use the "Summaries with Coded Segments" report in MAXQDA. This report displays summaries alongside their corresponding coded segments in a table, providing transparency and context.

However, for showing full parent codes with paraphrases, the "Categorize Paraphrases" window allows displaying parent codes by activating the "Display Parent Code" option. You can then export the paraphrases, but the export may not fully combine all elements (color, full parent code, coded segment, and paraphrase) in one file.

Currently, MAXQDA does not offer a single export combining all these elements exactly as described. You may consider exporting paraphrases with parent codes and separately exporting coded segments with colors, then combining them manually if needed.

For detailed steps on summaries with coded segments, see:

https://www.maxqda.com/help-mx24/report-and-export/reports-summaries-coded-segments

For categorizing paraphrases and displaying parent codes:

If you need further assistance, please let me know!

Kind regards on behalf of the MAXQDA Support Team,
Khaled
