How do I determine my customer type?

If you want to activate AI Assist, you will need to know which customer type your license belongs to.

You can identify your license type in the information window for the license status:

Student license

You have a student license (6 or 12 months). This license expires automatically. You can recognize the student license by the serial number MQSE00-xxxxxx, or MQST00-xxxxx

Subscription license via Cleverbridge

You have a single-user or network license that you have subscribed to via our online store on our website. The online store is managed by our e-sales partner Cleverbridge. 

• You receive invoices and serial numbers from Cleverbridge. 
• You have a Cleverbridge reference number or a subscription ID.
• You can use the Subscription Manager to manage your licenses and add AI Assist if necessary.

License via VERBI

VERBI is the manufacturer of MAXQDA and sells MAXQDA directly to large customers with many licenses, such as campus licenses or free floating licenses.

• You receive the invoice and the serial number from VERBI.
• You have a contract number.
• Only the VERBI sales department can make changes to the license.

License purchased via reseller

You have purchased your license via a reseller. 

• You receive your invoice and serial number from a reseller.

Teaching license / course license

• You have received a license from a teacher in your university seminar.
• The serial number starts with MQTE24-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxxx....
• Course licenses with the MAXQDA24 version automatically include AI Assist.

Campus license

You are using a license provided by your university.
Only the IT department at your university can make changes to the license.

Trial license

A trial license is valid for 14 days after activation. It automatically includes AI Assist.
