Getting started with MAXQDA

Here are the first steps to get started with MAXQDA:


1. Create a New Project:

   - Open MAXQDA and click on "New Project."

   - Enter a project name and choose a location to save your project. MAXQDA stores all your project data in a MAXQDA project file. 


2. Import Data:

   - You can import various types of data such as text documents, PDFs, audio, video, and images.

   - Go to the "Import" menu and select the type of data you want to import.


3. Organize Your Data:

   - Organize your imported data into document groups and variables to keep everything structured.


4. Coding Data:

   - Start coding your data by highlighting text segments and assigning codes to them.

   - You can use different coding methods like open coding, in vivo coding, and more.


5. Add Memos:

   - Add memos to segments, documents, or codes to capture your thoughts and insights.


6. Retrieve and Analyze Coded Segments:

   - Use the retrieval tools to find and analyze coded segments.

   - You can perform complex queries to explore your data in depth.


7. Export Your Work:

   - Export your coded segments, memos, and other data to Word, Excel, or other formats for reporting.
