Is my data safe when using MAXQDA Tailwind?

We would like to promise, that we take the safety and security of your personal data, as well as complying to all relevant data security policies very seriously here at VERBI.


MAXQDA Tailwind is made up of different functions. In order to make these available, data has to be processed:
  • Tailwind (Data analysis using AI):
    • Data transmission: The data you choose to utilize is encrypted and transmitted to our service provider Google Cloud, where the data is then processed within the EU (France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland and Finland).
    • Data saving: Your data is deleted 24 hours after processing is no longer necessary. All projects are deleted from an account 365 days after the license expires, or 90 days after a trial license expires. Projects and documents can be deleted manually at any given time. 
    • No Training: Your data is processed anonymously and is not used to train the AI.
    • DSGVO Compliant: Time and Place of the data processing of personal data is compliant with the DSGVO. Security measure have been made according to the standard contractual clauses
    • Data processing agreement (DPA): A DPA becomes relevant, when you start using and saving personal data within your documents. You can find our DPA in our T&Cs ---T&Cs under AI Assist § 7 point 1 Tailwind on page 6.
    • Data security policy: To use tailwind, the user has to create a MAXQDA Account. Here you can find our data security policy concerning how user data is saved there. Privacy statement
      When using the Tailwind Website, contacting support or receiving the newsletter, the following privacy policy is applicable.
