What can I do if my project file is damaged?

Modified on Wed, 14 May at 11:49 AM

Please search for backups of your file first. You can do so by searching your entire computer for files with the file extension .mx24 / .mx24bac. All MAXQDA 24 project files on your device should be shown. Possibly, a backup file exists that is neither damaged nor crashes.

If you cannot find a corresponding backup file, we will have to examine the project file and, if possible, set up the database structure again or restore it manually. In addition, we would like to ask you to send us the file ‘MAXQDA24_Support.zip’ from your MAXQDA project. You can find this file via ‘? > Export support file’.

You may either create a support ticket or write us an email. Please attach your damaged project file and the support file. Additionally, it would be of great help to provide us with screenshots of a possible error message or any further information specifying the issues you are facing. Then, we will further investigate your file as fast as possible.
