What about data security?

At VERBI, we take the security and privacy of your sensitive research data very seriously. For this reason, we have implemented a multi-level system for the registration and use of AI Assist. This ensures that only authorized individuals who understand the potential risks and benefits associated with the use of artificial intelligence are granted access to this tool.

When purchasing a MAXQDA licence, AI Assist can be added as an add-on. During the purchase process, buyers agree to the AI Assist terms and conditions.

Note: Users with personal licences can activate AI Assist independently in their licence. If you are using a licence through your organisation, you will need to wait for your organisation to activate the licence for AI Assist.

In order to use the AI Assist functions in MAXQDA, all users must create a free MAXQDA account. During the account creation process, users agree to the AI Assist Privacy Policy.

The content-related responsibility for the transmitted data lies with the individual user. Organizations are advised to specify and provide their own regulations for processing sensitive data within their organization.

All texts you analyze with AI Assist will be deleted after processing, but no later than 30 days. Your data will not be used to train a large language model.

Media files that you have transcribed with “MAXQDA Transcription” are stored exclusively on GDPR-compliant servers. Your data will only be used for speech recognition and not for any other purpose. Media files are automatically deleted upon completion of the transcription. Transcripts are automatically deleted 7 days after download if not manually initiated.
