General tips for improving automatic transcripts

Modified on Thu, 20 Jun at 4:28 PM

If you want to be sure that the automatic transcript works as good as possible, please follow the following tips.

  • Do not use any special characters in the file name of the media file. This can lead to transmission errors.
  • Choose the correct language.
  • Add your own expressions or vocabulary. The transcript will then require fewer manual corrections afterward.
  • Make sure the sound quality is good and there is little background noise. This makes it easier to understand and distinguish the speakers.
  • We recommend AAC as the file format, as this works best for MAXQDA's automatic transcription.
  • The file size must not exceed 1 GB, otherwise the file cannot be processed.
  • If you are using MP3 files, please use a fixed bit rate, preferably 320 Kbit/s. The automatic transcription cannot process a variable bit rate.
