Which foot switches are suitable for transcribing audio or video files?

With MAXQDA you may transcribe audio and video files directly within the program. That means that you don’t need any additional transcription software. MAXQDA offers all the common features for transcribing: Variable playing speed, rewind interval, automatic timestamps, etc.

To save time during transcription, you can also use a foot switch with MAXQDA. But please note: The foot switch should activate the F4 key when pushing and releasing it.

The following foot switches can be used for your transcription with MAXQDA

“Science” switch
“Science II” switch
Office or Infinity footswitch (three button)

Please note: On macOS Big Sur and newer the footswitches cause a right-click when unpressed after being pressed in order to play the audio file.
